Repreve takes recycled plastic bottles and helps turn them into cool stuff we wear and use everyday. But while this sustainable message might sound like a good idea, do people really want to wear t-shirts, swimsuits, jeans and jackets made from recycled plastic? This question is the inspiration behind the #TURNITGREEN Tour, Repreve's mobile expedition that criss-crossed the country in an effort to get their products in the hands of people everywhere. Helping answer the question that's on everyone's mind, "What does it feel like?"
From the initial concepts to the final designs, we were responsible for the entire look and feel of the tour. From the wrap on the Ford F-350, to the interior and exterior of the 34-foot trailer, to the box truck that held all of the merchandise, games and displays. This caravan looked almost as good while driving as it did when it was set up for the events.
Sometimes it's good to just have a little fun. Nearly every stop on the mobile tour is different, and often times we're competing for the attention of the audience with other vendors. While education about Repreve was always our number one priority, finding ways to attract and entertain large numbers of people was also a key for success.
We designed and built our own little bottle bowling alley, taking inspiration from Carnival Midway arcade games. The result was a one-of-a-kind bowling game that entertained kids both young and old. To be honest, we kind want to build another one for our offices!
Everyone wants something for free. At least that's what Repreve was banking on when it came to educating visitors about how soft and comfortable their products really are. But while no one had to pay with their money, we did get them to pay with their time. We built a prize app that was loaded on Microsoft Surface Pro 3s, as well as 55" touch-screen TVs, that let users recycle a plastic bottle, watch a 30-second video about the Repreve process and then find out what they won. The audience was immediately able to associate the idea of recycling a plastic bottle that really did turn into a product that was made from recycled plastic bottles.
From the beginning to the end, it was a perfectly seamless process. Matt Garrett, Vice President, SSG/Brand Intense
Kicking off at a Detroit Lions game in October, 2015, the #TURNITGREEN tour has made stops in Michigan, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, North Carolina, Colorado, Maryland and Florida, entertaining thousands of visitors and saving tens of thousands of bottles from landfills.
Repreve partnered with Snapbox, who's peel-and-stick photos are made with Repreve fiber, to create a photo booth and photo app. We designed and built the booth and the app, allowing visitors to take their photos, enter their email address and phone number to receive their photos and get entered for a chance to win additional prizes from Snapbox and Repreve.
