What do you get when you combine a Pro-Bowl Quarterback, several gallons of paint, a dozen footballs and a youth center, in the heart of Detroit's 8 Mile, in need of help? We worked with the Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford, S.A.Y. Detroit and Repreve to create a one-of-a-kind art project focused on bringing awareness and raising funds for the youth in Detroit.
Partnering with one of our favorite PR Agencies, The Brand Amp, Matthew Stafford completed a national Satellite Media Tour which included interviews with SportsCenter, NFL Live, NFL Total Access, the Rich Eisen Show and more. The total media impressions surpassed 115 million, providing Repreve (the project sponsor) with over $2.8M in advertising value. Additionally, the Paint by 9 video, with over 120,000 views, suprassed Repreve's previous high by more than 41,000—an increase of nearly 52%.
During the one-week event, the Paint by 9 website was viewed nearly 11,000 times, generating over 6,300 click-thrus to the eBay auctions and 723 total bids. In social media, the campaign had a reach of over 800,000 and a spread of nearly 2.5 million.
Overall, the original signed artwork—which included 5 paintings and 7 authentic game footballs—raised more than $10,000 in just 7 days for the S.A.Y. Detroit Play Center and the kids in Detroit.
